Kerio Mailserver 6.7

2009/05/18

Kerio Mailserver 6.7 came out of beta last week. This is an important release that Kerio users should download. Features include:

Global Address Book

Previous versions had an LDAP address book that required you to specifically "publish" the addresses you wanted to have in it. With 6.7, publishing is automatic unless you specifically disable that for a particular user. Information from Active Directory and Open Directory changes is automatically synchronized to this. Additionally, a new Public Contacts Folder will appear in IMAP and other clients (not POP, of course). Mobile users will particularly benefit from this.

Spam Filter Improvements

Spam is a constantly changing target. Kerio 6.7's spam filter can now use more CPU's to scan messages in parallel. Additionally, spam scores learned from black lists also update the Bayesian filter.

More OS X support

Users can create events in their personal calendar and mark them as private so that they won't be seen by users sharing that calendar. Entourage auto-configuration is now available, as is synchronization with Apple Address Book.

Debian and Ubuntu Linux support

Over-the-airsynchronizationof BlackBerry devices

New mobile client support: RoadSync 4.0

In most situations, upgrades are simply a matter of downloading this release and installing it. However, if your release is older than 6.5.2, you will need to do step upgrades before upgrading to 6.7. See How do I update Kerio MailServer when a new version is available? for details.
